My colleague forwarded an email to me from counties requesting more information on training resources.  I spoke at the CW2.0 Convening in Sacramento last week about the ‘Foundational’ and ‘Complimentary’ training we had for our county and shared that you don’t always need to use UC Davis training (albeit they are great but can be costly and I recognized not all counties can afford it).  Instead we utilized a lot of resources from the State and worked with our local resources to put together most of the training for very little to no cost by incorporating key elements that was suggested by the State.  Some we had outreached to our partners who are experts in the area of ACES, Resilience and Protective Factors.  We are more than satisfied with the outcome of all the training we had so far.  The implementation training of the tool itself will be done in-house.

Below are listings of what we had provided.

Comment on Is CalWORKs 2.0 “mandatory” for all 58 counties? by admin https://calworksnextgen.org/?p=785/#comment-20 Mon, 29 Jan 2018 20:02:46 +0000 http://calworksnextgen.org/forum/is-calworks-2-0-mandatory-for-all-58-counties/#comment-20 No. CWDA (County Welfare Directors Association), not the state, is sponsoring the CalWORKs Strategic Initiative. The tools to be created through the initiative will be available to counties to use as they see fit. Counties may use all, some, or none of the tools and may use them as developed or adapt them to fit the local service environment.

Comment on Is this website for County Welfare Department staff only? by admin https://calworksnextgen.org/?p=753/#comment-19 Tue, 10 Oct 2017 23:28:06 +0000 http://calworksnextgen.org/forum/is-this-website-for-county-welfare-department-staff-only/#comment-19 Thanks for your question.  The entire website is now open to the public, except for this Forum page which does still require registering for an account.  We hope the forum space will be a safe place for county welfare staff to post innovations, questions and responses without any fear of repercussions from state stakeholders or regulators.

If there is an inter-agency partner who you would like to have access to the Forum page, but they have not been able to create an account, please send an email to calworks2.0@gmail.com.

Comment on Who are the 6 “Pilot” counties for CalWORKs 2.0? by admin https://calworksnextgen.org/?p=729/#comment-18 Wed, 04 Oct 2017 17:27:26 +0000 http://calworksnextgen.org/forum/who-are-the-6-pilot-counties-for-calworks-2-0/#comment-18 Hi!  The counties that have participated in the road test so far are Placer, Kings, Humboldt, and Fresno.  Orange County is just starting their road test experience.

Thanks for asking our first Forum question, and I apologize for the delay in response.
